About These Terms
Laguna Coast Volleyball Club (“LCVC,” “we,” “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth volleyball club based in Laguna Beach, California. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of lagunacoastvolleyballclub.org, registration for any LCVC program, and participation as an athlete, parent, guardian, coach, or volunteer.
By registering for an LCVC program or using this site, you agree to these Terms.
Who Can Register
LCVC programs are for youth athletes. A parent or legal guardian must register each athlete and accept these Terms on the athlete’s behalf. By registering, the parent or guardian represents that they have legal authority to do so and that all information provided is accurate.
Registration, Fees, and Payment
Program fees are set by LCVC and posted at registration. Payment is processed online through our registration platform (SportsEngine) and payment processor (Stripe). A registration is confirmed when payment is received in full.
Some programs require separate memberships and fees from governing bodies (USA Volleyball, SCSN, AAU). These are paid by the family directly to the governing body and are not included in LCVC’s program fees.
Refunds and Cancellations
Refund requests are handled under our separate Refund Policy. If LCVC cancels a program, registrants will receive a refund or credit per that policy.
Code of Conduct
LCVC expects everyone connected to the club — athletes, parents, guardians, coaches, and staff — to act with respect and integrity.
Athletes are expected to follow coaches’ direction, respect teammates and opponents, treat officials and facility staff courteously, and comply with USA Volleyball’s SafeSport standards.
Parents and guardians are expected to support their athlete and coaches, respect officials, and refrain from coaching from the sidelines or engaging in conduct that disrupts practices, games, or other club events.
Coaches and staff are bound by additional standards including background checks, SafeSport certification, and the policies of LCVC’s governing bodies.
LCVC reserves the right to remove any participant from a program for conduct that endangers others, violates these Terms or governing-body rules, or materially disrupts club operations. Removal for conduct does not entitle the participant to a refund except as provided in the Refund Policy.
Assumption of Risk
Volleyball is a physical sport. Practices, games, tournaments, and travel involve inherent risks including but not limited to injury, illness, and accident. By registering and participating, the athlete and their parent or guardian acknowledge these risks and agree that LCVC, its coaches, staff, and volunteers are not responsible for risks inherent in athletic participation, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
LCVC follows safety practices established by USA Volleyball and our other governing bodies, and we expect athletes to follow coaching instruction at all times.
Photos and Media
LCVC takes photographs and video of athletes during practices, tournaments, and events. Use of those images is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes our opt-in approach and the ways parents can change their preferences at any time.
Governing Bodies
LCVC operates under the rules of USA Volleyball (USAV), Southern California Southern Nevada (SCSN), and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Registration for certain programs requires the athlete and family to comply with these bodies’ membership, eligibility, and background-screening requirements. LCVC will not roster an athlete for sanctioned events without the required governing-body credentials in place.
Intellectual Property
The LCVC name, logo, materials, and website content are the property of Laguna Coast Volleyball Club and are protected by applicable trademark and copyright law. You may use the website content for personal, non-commercial purposes related to your participation in LCVC programs. Any other use requires our written permission.
Acceptable Use of This Website
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, our systems, or our vendors’ systems
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without our written permission
- Upload viruses, malicious code, or content that is harmful, defamatory, or infringes another person’s rights
- Use the site’s contact information to send spam or unsolicited commercial communications
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LCVC is not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or participation in our programs. LCVC’s total liability for any claim related to your participation will not exceed the fees you paid to LCVC in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under California law, including liability for personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Indemnification
The parent or guardian agrees to indemnify and hold LCVC, its coaches, staff, and volunteers harmless from claims arising out of the athlete’s participation in LCVC programs, except to the extent caused by LCVC’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms or out of your participation in an LCVC program will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and the parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email to current parents and posted on this page at least 30 days before they take effect.
